Disturbed Girl started with a book called A Disturbed Girl's Guide to Curing Boredom. James Howell's story of a psychopathic journalist called Hannah Harker became a worldwide hit, so he wrote two more books about her: A Disturbed Girl Implodes and A Disturbed Girl's Redemption. Howell's latest work is Guinea Pigs, a collection of twisted short stories.
Then came the music. Electro artist Himuro Mansion loved the books and created a soundtrack, Hannah's Mix, to accompany them. Disturbed Girl was developing into a multi-media brand. Film was next, with Disturbed Girl Productions set up to bring short movies to life. The debut presentation, Amber's Haunt, arrived in 2015 and is currently touring film festivals across the world. Leading Dutch photographer Look J Boden then created a unique portfolio of portraits depicting Hannah Harker in various scenes from the novel A Disturbed Girl’s Guide to Curing Boredom. Now we have the Disturbed Army, a community for everyone who rejects the carefully orchestrated world of mass media, social obedience, enforced routines and suppressed ambition. We already have 50,000 Facebook followers who celebrate originality, free-thinking and counter-culture. Come and join us too. |
